Evening on Walnut Street

What fun it was to paint historic Walnut Street with artists friends at night!  Heading over after a full day of painting and a wonderful 20 year celebration of the event, I feel in love with these lit buildings at night.  I can remember the days when it was difficult to find enough light in town to paint at night.  Now, there are multiple subjects all over town.  I never know how a nocturne painting really looks until I open my trunk the next day.  Daylight reveals what I can't see at night - and in this case, it was a happy surprise! Another must have thought the same thing, because this painting has a new home, too. And oh howI love the quiet solitude of nocturne painting.  Painting number 3766 in 3766 days.
