Morning on W. Second

 

I love painting downtown Lakeside, where most of the traffic is bicycles and gold carts.  Everyone is so nice, and we visit about all things Lakeside.  Often, couples will walk by a few times to see my progress as I work.  What a great place to visit AND paint!  I'm so happy this painting has found a new home in Kentucky!  Painting number 4948 in 4948 days. 

Milk Barn Forsythia

 

I think spring is a most magical season to paint in rural Missouri, and especially on our generational family farm.  I wish Grandma Frank could be here to enjoy all that we have brought to this very special place.  It is near and dear to my heart, and forever a place where I am truly grounded as one can only be with a lifetime of memories.  Painting number 4841 in 4841 days. 

Deer and Pine

 

Seven deer met me on the lane when I returned a bit ago, so one is on my easel this evening.  The countryside is quiet when the air is cold and many leaves have already fallen from the trees.  Such a night inspires me to capture the wildlife, quite docile and unafraid of us.  They actually like my dog, and come close to the house to see him.  He likewise wags his tail and runs towards them when he sees them in the yard, or he ignores them completely as if they were just trees.  I'm looking forward to the quiet hours of winter with ink, watercolor and paper.  Painting number 5027 in 5027 days. 

Home Through the Snow

It has been so long since we've had a heavy snow like this!  This winter wonderland won't last long here in Missouri, so I must paint as much as I can to take advantage of it!  I got out early before the wind brought in three colder temps. We're going down to record lows tomorrow, with windchills in the -30s! So tomorrow will probably find me painting from shelter! I do love exploring the beauty of snow in paint! Beeson Covered Bridge

 I love the covered bridges of Indiana!  This year, my mom has been with my for this covered bridge painting trip - and it has been so fun!  We have found different bridges this year, north and west of Rockville.  Since ink and watercolor is faster, I have used that for most of these bridges.  This bridge is visible from 36 Hwy, and easily accessible.  The morning light was perfect, so of course I had to paint it!  This one is now available at All Things Carmel on Main Street in Carmel, Indiana.  Painting number 2820 in 2820 days.
