Twilight on Second St

It's so fun to paint in the heart of town in Lakeside, Ohio!  Bikes and golf carts are everywhere, as summer fun is in full swing.  This historic street offers endless possibilities for paintings!  I'm so happy this painting has a new home, too. 

Twilight Ice Cream Run

Each night as we returned from a show at the Hoover Auditorium, this scene would jump out at me - begging me to paint it!  After Mom and I enjoyed a cup and walked back to our hotel, it seemed too late to return.  I knew last night would be my final chance - so I ran back up there and painted it.  What I started in the twilight was full night when I finished.  Some paintings just need to be painted.  Painting number 4583 in 4583 days. I'm thankful this one went to a new home at today's Wet Paint Sale!  

Wheel Fun Rentals

This has been a fabulous day for painting, full of sun, sand and warm gulf coast breezes!  This cheerful place has called my name since I first stepped foot on the island - and today I am answering that call!!  It's fun to visit with the locals as they walk these white sand beaches!  Everyone is so friendly.  How could you not be in a place like this?  I find I am losing track of time as I work - who cares what time it is?  Life's too short for watching the clock!  Painting number 2613 in 2613 days.

What fun I am having in Carmel! This morning, I had three paintings in my head to paint.  The rain had pretty much stopped, but with a mist persisting.  Therefore, I looked for shelter and started the most complicated composition first.  I loved how shapes took form, and the panel came alive before me.  Passersby stopped to chat and watch, as the strokes fell off the brush.  This was a joy to paint and an honor to win the Bazbeaux purchase award for this street scene.  Day 20 of the 30 day painting challenge and my 993rd painting in 993 days!
