I was able to inspect this 42 watercolor set in person at our Urban Sketchers KC event, and since I didn't win it, I ordered one for myself! The colors seem pretty vivid on first use, and red is always the first one I check. It seems that if the pigments are weak, it shows up clearly in the reds. I got strong color with little effort. I hopped around the palette, exploring the paint. The whole set folds in neatly, and holds a water brush pen. Each pan is shallow, not nearly as large as a half pan. The real benefit is the wide range of colors in a very compact set. LOVE playing with new supplies! Painting number 2197 in 2197 days.
