Morning at the Power House
I LOVE painting the vintage charm of this power house at the Maramec Spring Park. I try to paint at this park every time I'm in town, so I set off for a different painting spot then I had before. To get the dramatic water angle, I had to plant myself practically in the tree line by the water. The cool air was rising from the spring water - nearly like air conditioning! Birdsong was my serenade as I painted today, and I can't wait to do it again. Come see this in person at Gallery Zeke in Steelville! Painting number 4899 in 4899 days.

Spring Bridge
Maremec Spring Park is one of my favorite places to paint, and it was fun to spend time here with local high school students during their plein air weekend! All of the students and mentors were treated admission to the Folksy Fish Festival, and we sketched among the bands dotting through the park. It was a great day spent teaching and having fun in a beautiful setting along the spring. Painting number 5076 in 5076 days.

Morning at Maramec Spring
What a treat to paint at one of my favorite places today - Maremec Spring Park! The water is stunning and the light was soft this morning, setting the stage for a moody painting at the waterfall. Painting to the sound of the water is sheer joy, as the painting emerges from the panel. This one is now showing at GalleryZeke!

Rapp Farmhouse
I just can't resist painting a rambling old farmhouse - and this one is amazing! Plenty of historic charm here on Solar Acres Farm, and pen and ink was the perfect medium to capture the lines and angles of this place. A family farm, passed down through generations, this place is a treasure in St. James, Missouri. It is so fun to step into a place for a day, and paint three different slices of it's character, in three different mediums. I love this artist life so much! Happy Independence Day! Powerhouse at Maramec Springs
The wonderful lines of the little green powerhouse grabbed me immediately! So charming, it is storybook perfect along the winding Maramec Spring. Misty when I started, I quickly got the masses down in oil to repel the coming rain. The ground near the spring is very cold, and my toes were getting numb on this cold and rainy day. Thank goodness I had half a yoga mat to fold up and stand on - it was much warmer for my feet! By the time I finished, the rain was moving in and a large turtle joined to watch me paint!
