KC Arrowhead Inked
It's that time again! As the Super Bowl approaches, I just have to wash some ink in support of our hometown boys! The excitement around the city is palpable and i simply must get a few Chiefs paintings done before the big day! I first sketched this with India ink, then went over those lines with a chisel tip Pitt pen. Next, I dropped in a favorite new fountain pen ink - Grotto - by Diamine, then washed in a juicy layer barely touching the edge of that ink. The ink moves freely into the very wet masses with a mind of it's own. How fun it is to watch it unfold! Painting number 5090 in 5090 days.

Chiefs Color at Union Station
Wet streets and Chief's color rock the Union Station after dark! Today, I'm using Diamine inks and TWSBI fountain pens for this nocturne ink painting, Three Kings, Solar Storm, Cardinal, Spruce, and Yule Log. All are from the Inkvent Calendar 2022. I sketched the scene out with an India ink pen first then added the inkinto wet masses, allowing it to mingle. That Solar Storm sure makes a wonderful night sky! Hope to get one more done before the big game this weekend! Painting number 3674 in 3674 days and day 26 of the #stradaeasel challenge.

KC!! - in batik
![]() |
| KC!! - in batik Watercolor batik on masa, 7x5 purchase here |
What a sporting weekend for Kansas City!! The Royals are in New York for the World Series (already taking 3 of 4 games so far) and the Chiefs are in London - which is crazy town - and totally dominating o the field! It may just be too much excitement for us locals - as we await another World Series game in an hour!! So, I’m painting one this gorgeous afternoon for both our KC teams - and then I’m off for some last minute details before the game! This painting makes 1034 in 1034 days.
