N. Main and Washington
Some days I have an idea already in my head of what I might want to paint. I headed out this morning and totally changed my mind! Instead of the small focus of the federal style building, I wanted the long sweep of Main Street as I looked down Washington. Luckily, I had one long handmade paper in my bag, so after switching to a longer format I jumped right in. I started the rather complicated line drawing with De Atramentis Archive Ink, taking a break as I finished the composition. The breakfast at the Main Street Inn B&B is amazing - so of course I put my painting on hold! After feasting and visiting with the other guests while being entertained by our host, I returned to add watercolor to the ink. I love getting to immerse myself in such a special place, capturing the moment in ink and watercolor. Painting number 3110 in 3110 days.
