I love a little sketch time with the girls - and Able - who continues to be a gentleman! The first fountain pen I pulled out of my bag was actually a red one - which left the red line at the base of the crown. Maybe, I should take the red ink to the comb and wattles? I haven't yet decided, so I've left the red for now. I could easily black it out if I choose. This sketchbook is dedicated to only chicken art - and is my Ellie Poo book, which is dung based paper. It reacts like no other paper, porous and absorbent, so each drawing is an exploration of it's range. Watercolor does not move at all, but acrylic and gouache are good companions. Ink works pretty well, but the water soluble inks don't move so easily, either. It's fun to sketch to the cooing of chickens, offering treats when they jump on my lap! Painting number 5056 in 5056 days.
