At the Cauldron

Painting in watercolor batik is super fun! I start with an ink drawing on tissue thin rice paper, adding watercolor slowly with a soft brush.  The paper damages easily, so I paint almost as if I'm laying the stroke on top of the surface.  After got waxing for resists, and layering more paint, the painting emerges. Only after the wax is removed does the full painting reveal itself. Wishing you all a Halloween full of little witches, goblins and ghouls!! Painting number 5051 in 5051 days.
