Port Clinton Lighthouse

purchase here

The lighthouse in Port Clinton was built in 1896 and placed at the entrance of the Portage River, where it remained active on Lake Erie for 56 years.  This is the river that runs through my parent's back yard. This winter, the ice jammed up, flooding the bottom acre, and was still there when I left town.  This lighthouse has been restored and one can climb the staircase for a wonderful view of the islands beyond.  Using my TWSBI Go fountain pen on this one!  Painting number 2246 in 2246 days.

Elle and Em and All Abloom

As I spend time with my parents, helping with my dad, I work on small paintings.  Inking, sometimes adding watercolor to sketches, helps me finish up work while sitting bedside.  I get a little time outside each day, but not like normal.  I do get out for a run on the Inland Trail, and I think I can outfit my phone holder with tiny papers and a pen.  I long to draw those farms as I run by them!  I'll give it a try tomorrow!  These tiny paintings will go to the Got Art Gallery on 3rd when I get back to town!  Painting number 2097 in 2097 days.

Sunflower and Bee

A little out of sorts today, I couldn't really settle down and focus.  I drew and painted three drawings before I was happy enough to post one!  I did the same thing last night, finishing two and posting neither.  Very uncommon for me, but here we are, 5 paintings since last night and this is the one I post.  This is also not my norm, not my usual focus or composition, and I've never drawn the bee from above.  The bees come and go, winding through those petals like they are doors.  So strange.  It does feel good to step out of my box and get a little whimsical.  Perhaps tomorrow I'll visit a favorite creek to double down on that focus!  Painting number 2058 in 2058 days.
